Land Rover Lifestyle launches 1st Descents project

Old reflected in the new

Over the weekend of June 5th, Land Rover Lifestyles Magazine had a kick-off event for their 1st Descents project. The project intends to link owners of new generation Land Rover vehicles like the LR3 and the Range Rover Sport to the outdoors and trails that owners of the older generation vehicles frequent. To this end they had three nicely appointed LR3s at Land Rover Roaring Fork in Glenwood Springs Colorado along with four original Camel Trophy Land Rovers.

Present were two Camel Trophy Discoverys and two Camel Defender 110s. Very impressive vehicles with a great deal of history behind them. The current owners were obviously very proud to have these examples of Land Rover history.

The Camel trucks and their owners

Also present were Paul May of Equipt, and Keith Kreutzer of Rover Tracks. I was there, not really to represent Overland Training, but rather to check out the Camel Trophy vehicles, meet the owners and experience the excitement.

A great set of Defenders
